Volunteering up in Ishinomaki – Irwin Wong, Photographer

Tokyo-based editorial photographer Irwin Wong spent the first week of May in Ishinomaki volunteering with Peace Boat. He has posted several blog entries, along with an amazing collection of photographs, about  the current situation in the tsunami and quake stricken region, the difficult but necessary work of clearing mud and debris, and portraits of volunteers themselves – both Japanese and international. To see the reality of Ishinomaki and the volunteer’s activities two months since the quake, visit his blog here for more: Irwin Wong, Photographer.
